Weekend Reflections

I just returned from a weekend in Paris and of course my weekend reflection-picture is of this city. The "Dome des Invalides" (home of Napoleon's ashes) reflected in a shop window across the street.

One of the first to appear in Spring.

Leucojum vernum it is called in Latin. 

And I just learned that it is in the same botanical family as the Amaryllis.

A day at the zoo

A beautiful Spring day in Vienna. So a friend and I decided to spend it at the zoo. There are a lot of baby animals at the moment - monkeys, baby anacondas (18 of them!), a baby elephant and even a baby panda bear (about 7 months old). The Pandas were behind glass walls, therefore the quality of my picture is not the best but I have to show you this little cutie.

Spring is all around us

Anyways.
Spring is really all around us and every day I find new flowers and buds. They seem to adore the sun as much as I do.

It must be Spring when ...

... we take our first trip of the year to Wachau. Wachau is a pittoresque part of the Danube valley, warm and well known for its wine. And as the climate is a little bit warmer than in the rest of the country our first Sunday trip in Spring usually takes us there. Yesterday was the day! Beautiful weather, sunny, warm - one could only be happy. Husband and dog took the 2 hours-hike, I staid behing taking pictures and sketching.

The sun on the Danube was glistening and Felix decided that it was warm enough to take a bath in the river.

And one - and really only one - tree was already blooming. An almond tree with beautiful flowers.
