My wish that came true

Whale watching was on top of my "to-do-in-life" list quite long. No wonder as I live in Austria, in the middle of Europe with no ocean for approximately 2000 kilometres in every direction.

But in 2011 we went to Australia's west coast - an incredibly beautiful trip. And even better - it was the season where the humpback whales migrated just along the coast. So whale watching we went. I still get goosebumps thinking of this experience.

Recycled / Repurposed

This is an easy prompt for me. I am a quilter and the original idea for quilts was to recycle. Clothes which could no longer be worn were cut up und sewn together into blankets. Well, to be honest, today we buy most of the fabric used for quilts but we still recycle old fabric and small scraps. My quilt was made out of scraps from a larger project and the black fabric is a dyed sheet. 

And the black raven is by a local artist who recycles old metal for his art.

Somewhere you visited

These are pictures of the Wartburg in Eisenach, Germany. It is a castle up on a hill, founded in 1067, but mostly rebuilt (with some ancient parts left) in the 19th century. 1999 it was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site. It is most famous for the fact that Martin Luther did hide here in 1521 when he was in conflict with the Roman-Catholic Church. Here he translated the Bible into German language (in only 11 weeks it is said).

That was pretty easy for me as on some days the planes landing in Vienna are decending over our house. So I stood on my balcony for a while.
