My fabulous vacation in the US - Part IV

Our last destination in the US was New York City. It's one of the most interesting and lively cities I know. Amazing buildings, great shops, every sort of food you can imagine and lots of people. I just love it!

The Big Apple is a city full of contrasts,

a city full of old

and of new.

A city with many bridges,

unexpected specs of color

and a lot of light.

We have been on the Empire State Building

and we took the ferry and passed by the Statue of Liberty

and Ellis Island

and landed on the most southern point of Manhattan.

New York City has so many museums that you can't count them.

A very moving experience was our visit to the 9/11 memorial and the new World Trade Center. There is a new tower and a museum. And exactly on the sites of the Twin Towers are two basins, the same size as the towers were, with waterfalls on all side. Around the basins one can find the names of the persons who lost their lives on this day. I think this is a beautiful solution for this site.

One of the attractions in New York City is Central Park. We spent a whole lot of time there and I will show you pictures of this recreation area tomorrow.
